The last two days have been fantastic from a photography point of view. I got the opportunity to shoot a number of subjects in very different surroundings to what I normally do and it has been great! Ranging from ground squirrels on open grassland to the Grey Crowned Crane in a bird aviary I have had a blast. Will be sharing more image soon but for now I thought the above image would make for a nice addition to the site. Apart from pushing the saturation up ever so slightly and a quick crop to loose some distracting branches on the right I did not do a lot of post processing to this image. These birds are stunning and when combined with late afternoon light the results are quite spectacular. Apart from the portrait type shots I was able to get quite a few nice abstracts of the feathers but more on that in a later post. For now the colors, textures and overall look of the Crane works for me. Beautiful bird, nice image.
More soon.
