Yesterday evening as the sun was setting we sat at a waterhole watching a pride of lions and a lone elephant bull. Being in a position to sit and enjoy African moments like this on a regular basis is a privilege yet there is no doubt that it is quite easy to become blasé about it. Should you ever start feeling that the magic is gone, pick up your camera. It is amazing how looking at African wildlife through a lens can open up a whole new world of visual beauty and remind you about how special it is to be able to spend time in the wild places of Africa. Brian Jack man sums it up perfectly – “Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is the worst of all.” Now add a camera to that and a mild fascination can easily turn into a fantastic visual journey of discovery.
More soon.
