This was the first sighting of the morning.  A pride of lions walking directly into the sunrise.  As with most things to do with wildlife photography things happened quite quickly so in order to capture the golden light, dust and formation of the lions I pretty much just grabbed my camera and shot.  As you can see form the EXIF data, I was shooting at ISO 1250 which is how I left my camera from the previous days shooting.  Doh!!  Normally my camera’s standby position is Aperture Priority at f/8 and ISO 200.  Lesson learnt and even though I normally end each safari by putting the camera back to standby position this was just a reminder to always check the small details.  Great sighting, good reminder and great image. Oh, and don’t be afraid to shoot in to the light.  There are great images to be made!

More soon.
