Shot this youngster a week or so ago. He is a part of a pride of 11 and this particular day it was surprisingly difficult to get clean lion shots. The whole pride was laying around in the grass with some of the younger ones, like the boy above, now and then making us take aim with our cameras. At last he moved slightly off to the side and after bothering one of the younger cubs for a while he dropped down into the grass. I zoomed in close but still had to wait for one of the other youngsters to move out of the frame. Patience, click, done. I quite like the clean look and feel of this image and a 2.8 lens can really make a huge difference in getting your images to pop. If anything it would have been even better of the clouds opened up just a little bit more to let some of the golden light color the lion’s face but that’s being picky. Young lion image. Done.
Quick question which is going to lead to blog post early in the New Year. Do you think the above image could also work as a square crop such as on the right? I reckon it is still a pretty strong image but would like to hear what you have to say about this one. Will then be picking up on this early in the New Year when I will look at how to crop your wildlife image for maximum impact! Which one works better and why? Leave a comment with your thoughts!
With tomorrow being Thursday it is guest blogger day and the guest blogger is… me.
You see with it being the day before Xmas it was difficult to get a guest blogger and anyway, I felt it would not be write to have someone else slaving away during the festive season so therefore, me. You see, this whole week has been quite chill and easy from a blog point of view as I have just been posting Daily Photos so tomorrow I will probably have a bit of a look back over the last year. Put things into perspective and see where it is all going. Not quite sure of the details yet but if you have a moment tomorrow, pop in and join my as we head towards the end of 2009. Almost there.
