Going Solo in Lightroom

If you have ever gotten confused by all the toolbars in Lightroom try going solo.

Lightroom Screen Capture

The above screen capture shows, in red, the panels & sliders you use in Lightroom when processing images.  Very user friendly once you know your way around things but it can feel very messy at times as well.  If you start using more than just the ‘Basic‘ panel things might get quite confusing on the right side of the screen.  The solution to this is quite simple and will make your workflow a lot neater.

Lightroom - Going Solo

By right-clicking on any of the panel’s (such as Basic, Tone Curve, etc) you will get a menu as seen above.  Now simply click on ‘Solo Mode‘.  Now that you have gone solo you will see that each time you click on any the panels Lightroom will automatically collapse all other.  This will not only make it easier to focus on exactly what you are doing but also make things a lot neater on the screen.

Lightroom Solo Mode

In the above screen capture I clicked on the ‘Tone Curve‘ panel after activating solo mode.  You can see how Lightroom automatically collapsed all the other panels making for a much neater workspace.  Easy!

Until next time!
