I must have a thousand shots like this but it still works. A male lion in his prime will always make for good photographic subject. This particularly spectacular specimen keeps a territory close to our lodge so we are lucky enough to get to see him and his brother, which is also very good looking, on a regular basis. On this afternoon we sat watching the entire pride the male was slowly going through his waking up ritual. If I could have changed one thing it would have been for him to lift his head slightly so that I got more of the eyes but hey, that’s the challenge in wildlife photography. You cannot always have everything! Will be looking for this guy and and hopefully get a few more shots! For now, I still like this image!
